2/20/2025 2:39:00 PM

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University STUNT team competed in their first games of STUNT this past weekend at the Mercyhurst Tournament and will be hosting their first home intercollegiate game next week on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7:00p.m. against Misericordia in Koehler Fieldhouse.

East Stroudsburg University had Acrobatics and Tumbling from 2022 until 2024. However, in June 2024, Director of Athletics Dr. Allen Snook announced ESU's Acrobatics and Tumbling program will transition to STUNT and start competing in the 2024-25 academic year.

Chrystiana Brettle, a graduate student-athlete member of the team, expressed exciting words about the transition. Brettle stated "These past few months of learning were great. We've accomplished so much material as a team in so little time. As someone with an acro-only stunting background, it was exciting to learn something new."

Also, graduate student-athlete Alyssa Takacs commented "My team has worked extremely hard this year in preparation for STUNT, which is ESU's newest collegiate sport. We have learned new skills, overcame adversity, and worked together to be game ready and make ESU proud. We hope to see many fans at our home games this year. Go Warriors!"

After their home match next Thursday, the team will compete in several tournaments such as Missouri Baptist Tournament (3/1-3/2), Misericordia Tournament (3/29-3/30), and Drury Tournament (4/5-4/6). Finally, the Warriors will host the ESU Tournament on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday April 13, against Saint Elizabeth, Mercyhurst, Gallaudet, and Randolph. The first three games on Saturday will be played at 10:00 a.m. (Saint Elizabeth), 12:30 p.m. (Mercyhurst), and 3:00 p.m. (Gallaudet) With their game against Randolph on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
