LOCK HAVEN - Following an impressive winter season featuring a runner-up team conference championship performance and strong contributions from all six sponsored PSAC sports, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday that the East Stroudsburg University athletic department ranks second in the Dixon Trophy standings among 17 full-time institutions after the winter season.
The Warriors earned 22 conference athlete of the week honors and 14 All-Region Honorees.
Men's Indoor Track and Field (15 pts): The men's team finished as the conference runner-up at the 2024-25 PSAC championships, scoring 15 points in the Dixon Trophy standings.
Daniel Smith (High Jump),
Cole Gorham (Shot Put),
Anthony Voto (Weight Throw) and
Jack Gorham (Triple Jump) all won their respective events to help propel the Warriors to their highest finish since 2020.
Women's Indoor Track and Field (15 pts): The women took third at the conference meet for their highest finish since 2018.
Shannon Harnett was the team's highest point scorer after scoring a combined 24 points with first place (Triple Jump), second place (high jump), and third place (long jump) finishes.
Riley Trentowski (800m),
Porschia Bennett (High Jump),
Samiyah Little (Weight Throw) and
Payton Falkenstein (5000m) all took first place in their respective events. Between both men and women, the Warriors earned 12 USTFCCCA All-Region Team individual nominations and 14 events total.
Men's Basketball (12 pts): The men's basketball team enjoyed another successful season in the 2024-25 winter season. They would finish as quarterfinalists in the conference championship tournament and earn an NCAA Regional Tournament bid. Senior
Lakeem McAliley earned All-Region Second Team honors for the second year in a row.
Evan Morton was named Freshman of the Year and senior
Cam Young earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Women's Swimming (7 pts): The women's swimming team had one of their most successful seasons in recent years.
Vera Renshof became the first conference champion in an event in 46 years, while
Anique Hazebroek earned a bronze medal to help the Warriors to their highest point total in several years.
Women's Basketball (6.5 pts): The women's basketball team found new success under new head coach,
Liz Flooks. The senior,
Emily Chmiel, helped propel the Warriors to the PSAC tournament, broke the program record for points in a season, and became the first All-Region First team member since 1996.
Brie Droege was named the Freshman of the Year, becoming the fifth player in program history to earn the award.
Men's Wrestling (3.33 pts): The men's wrestling team finished the season strong with 10 athletes that wrestled at the NCAA Super Region I Championships.
Josh Jasionowicz, earned the fifth spot in the super regional with
Layton Schmick, and
Brian Lombardi finishing in the six spot.
