EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The No. 12 East Stroudsburg University women's lacrosse team cruised to a dominant 15-4 victory over PSAC East opponent Bloomsburg on Wednesday at Whitenight Field.
The Warriors (6-3, 3-1) showcased a high-powered offense and one of their best defensive performances of the season to take down the Huskies (6-4, 2-3). With the win, ESU moves up to No. 2 in the PSAC East standings.
Game Highlights
Sadie Kauffman led the way with 10 of ESU's 16 draw controls and recorded five points on four goals.
Courtney Reynolds and
Jolee Roth each posted three-point performances, with Reynolds scoring two goals and Roth tallying two assists.
Goalie
Abby Simonetti anchored the defense, allowing just two goals in 49 minutes in net.
A total of 10 Warriors recorded at least one point, with eight players scoring multiple points.
How It Happened
ESU jumped out to an early 3-0 lead with goals from
Sophia Graffeo, Kauffman, and Roth before Bloomsburg responded to make it 3-1 late in the first quarter.
The Warriors took control in the second quarter, scoring six unanswered goals to extend the lead to 9-1. Reynolds and Kauffman each found the back of the net twice during the run, and ESU held a 9-2 lead at halftime.
ESU put the game out of reach in the second half, netting six straight goals to go up 15-2, triggering the running clock en route to the 15-4 victory.
