GRANTHAM, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team secured its second consecutive sweep, defeating Messiah 7-0 on Wednesday at Criste Courts.
The Warriors (8-4) recorded their first back-to-back sweep since 2018, dominating the Falcons (4-4) in both singles and doubles play.
How It Happened – Doubles
Lea Stefanovic and
Ariel Kelsick were victorious in their No. 1 doubles debut, earning a 6-3 win over Kiara Bomboy and Kylie Walker.
At No. 2 doubles,
Claudia Ermina and
Bega Gotor secured their first win at No.2 doubles, defeating Katelyn Good and Bella Heckman 6-1.
Maya Jackson and
Gianina Speranza partnered for the first time at No. 3 doubles, sweeping Jocelyn Valdez and Isabella Ipri 6-0.
How It Happened – Singles
At No. 1 singles,
Marketa Beladova made quick work of Kiara Bomboy, winning 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 2 singles, Stefanovic mirrored the performance, shutting out Kylie Walker 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 3 singles,
Louise Boyer-Vidal earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Bella Heckman.
At No. 4 singles, Kelsick extended her winning streak with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Valdez.
At No. 5 singles, Gotor edged out a 6-4 first set before securing the match with a 6-2 second set against Good.
At No. 6 singles,
Jazmine Parker fought through a tight match, winning 6-3, 7-5 over Ipri.
