Warriors Stay Perfect in PSAC East with Win Over Golden Rams

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team continued its strong start in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East play, defeating West Chester 5-1 at Stroudsburg High School. The victory marks the Warriors' first over the Golden Rams in over a decade, dating back to the 2010-11 season.

With the win, ESU improves to 12-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while West Chester falls to 3-10 (0-2 PSAC East).

How it Happened in Doubles
The Warriors secured the doubles point with key performances:

No. 1 Doubles: Marketa Beladova and Louise Boyer-Vidal outlasted Alexandra Cave and Delaney Tingle in a thrilling tiebreak, 7-6 (7-3) to clinch the doubles point.

No. 2 Doubles: Lea Stefanovic and Ariel Kelsick with a solid 6-3 victory over Gabriella Lerario dos Santos and Felicia Manful.

No. 3 Doubles: The Spanish duo of Bega Gotor and Claudia Ermina fell to Sohana Thompson and Ashleigh Grooms 6-0.

How it Happened in Singles
ESU dominated in singles play, winning four of five completed matches before the rain ended play early.

No. 1 Singles: Marketa Beladova earned a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 victory over regionally ranked Delaney Tingle, securing her ninth win in the top spot.

No. 2 Singles: Lea Stefanovic cruised past Alexandra Cave with a commanding 6-3, 6-2 win.

No. 3 Singles: Louise Boyer-Vidal (Paris, France) dominated Gabriella Lerario dos Santos (São Paulo, Brazil) in a 6-1, 6-1 international battle.

No. 4 Singles: Ariel Kelsick extended her impressive winning streak to 10 straight matches, defeating Felicia Manful 6-2, 6-4.

No. 5 Singles: Gianina Speranza won the opening set but ultimately fell to Sohana Thompson 6-3, 1-6, 1-6.

No. 6 Singles: Bega Gotor saw her match cut short due to rain but was leading in the third set after splitting the first two.

The Warriors look to stay unbeaten in PSAC East action when they travel to Shippensburg University on Saturday, April 5th. ESU aims for its third conference win in a season for the first time since 2017-18. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at Robb Sports Complex.
