STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg University women's tennis team experienced its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East loss of the season, falling to Bloomsburg University with a final score of 6–1 on Tuesday afternoon at Stroudsburg High School. The defeat ended ESU's winning streak, bringing their record to 16–6 overall and 4–1 in the PSAC East. With the win, Bloomsburg improved to 12–2 overall and a perfect 5–0 in conference play.
Doubles Competition
In doubles play, ESU's No. 1 team,
Marketa Beladova and
Louise Boyer-Vidal, secured the only doubles victory for the Warriors, winning 6–4 against Lexi Quackenbush and Nicole Ilkovic.
At No. 2,
Lea Stefanovic and
Ariel Kelsick were narrowly defeated by Dasha Nakonechna and Lia-Sophie Seele, 4–6.
In No. 3 doubles, Bloomsburg's Jen McDonald and Alyssa Mazurek dominated
Claudia Ermina and
Bega Gotor, 6–0.
Singles Competition
Marketa Beladova carried her momentum into singles play with a commanding 6–1, 6–0 win over Quackenbush at the No. 1 position.
Lea Stefanovic fell to Ilkovic at No. 2 by scores of 1–6, 0–6.
Louise Boyer-Vidal was defeated in straight sets, 3–6, 4–6, by McDonald in No. 3 singles.
Ariel Kelsick, who had been on a singles win streak, lost 5–7, 1–6 to Seele at No. 4.
In a three-set match at No. 5,
Gianina Speranza claimed the first set but was eventually overtaken by Nakonechna, who won 2–6, 6–1, 6–1.
Bega Gotor fell 3–6, 1–6 at No. 6 singles to Lily Sierka.

The Warriors will look to bounce back as they prepare to host Kutztown University in their final PSAC East match of the regular season. The match will also serve as Senior Day, recognizing graduating team members for their contributions. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
