East Stroudsburg University Ranks Among Top Institutions in National Academic Achievement Awards

East Stroudsburg, Pa —East Stroudsburg University (ESU) has earned national recognition for academic excellence in collegiate athletics, ranking 3rd among all NCAA Division II institutions in the 2024–2025 Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards. With 242 student-athletes honored, ESU also led the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), outperforming all other member institutions.

The D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards, now in their eighteenth year, celebrate student-athletes who excel academically while competing in NCAA-sponsored sports. To qualify, recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, complete at least two years of collegiate coursework, and actively participate in intercollegiate athletics during the academic year.

Within the PSAC, ESU led with the highest number of honorees, followed by Slippery Rock University (209), Seton Hill University (208), and Bloomsburg University (160). Nationally, only Tiffin University (300) and Colorado Mesa University (280) surpassed ESU's total.

ESU's strong performance underscores the university's enduring commitment to academic achievement, student development, and institutional excellence. Through robust academic support services, structured mentoring, and a culture that prioritizes student success, ESU continues to set a standard for integrating athletics and academics.
