Women's Cross Country Impresses at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

The East Stroudsburg University women's cross country team competed in their third race in as many weeks at the 52nd UMass Dartmouth Invitational.   The Warriors had their strongest race to date this season, placing 8th out of thirty-six teams in the gold division with a team total of 228 points.  East Stroudsburg was the first Division II team in the race with one Division III team ahead and six Division I teams ahead.  Boston University won the meet with thirty-five points.

Payton Falkenstein crossed the line first for the Warriors with a 14th place finish in 21:53.41.  Next was freshman Sarah Williams, taking thirtieth place in 22:26.99, achieving her best time of the season.
     
Crossing the line third for the Warriors was sophomore Mia Sisilli in 66th place with a time of 23:09.62.  Right behind her was fellow classmate Carla Bautista in 67th place with a time of 23:12.15.  Rounding out the top 5 scorers for the Warriors was Riley Trentowski in 76th place, running 23:22.47.

Displacing for the ESU women were Kiera Wimbush in 101st place with a time of 23:50.29 and Marissa McDougall with a personal best time in 116th place in 24:16.15.  Also competing in the gold division for the Warriors was sophomore Gabriela Orama in 144th place with a time of 24:54.92.

The lady Warriors were also impressive in the Navy division, placing ninth out of twenty-two teams with 216 points.

In the Navy division, veteran Megan Elgrim led with a time of 25:04.18, finishing in 34th place.  Not far behind was sophomore Sidney Hutt in 41st place, covering the course in a personal best time of 25:14.14.

Rounding out the top 5 for the Warriors were freshman Ashley Landis in 44th with a time of 25:21.21, Tara Haring finishing in 48th in 25:24.29, and Morgan Salmon in 53rd in 25:35.19. 

Displacing for the Warriors was sophomore Hannah Skelly with her best 6k, taking 80th place in 26:39.78.
