EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg University Men's Soccer team dropped a hard fought battle to Mercy University this afternoon. With a final score of 2-1, Warriors played a tightly contested game posting 8 shots.
 

Both teams ended the first half scoreless. Mercy was first on the scoreboard in the second half with a goal from Hugo Martin with 28:30 left on the clock.  

The Warriors responded with an equalizing goal; it was a beautifully bent ball to the back of the net by Matt Johnson, with the assist from Benny Goodrich. 

Unfortunately, ESU was not able to stave off a late offensive effort by the Mavericks. Martin scored his second goal of the game, with an assist from Matteo Azambuja.

ESU returns to Eiler-Martin Stadium on Sunday, September 7 with a game against Gannon. The start time is set for 1:00 PM.
