SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University women's basketball team closed out a three-game stretch with a road win over the Shippensburg Raiders Saturday afternoon, 64-49.
The Warriors are now 11-6 overall and 6-4 in PSAC action, while Shippensburg dropped to 1-16 overall and 0-10 in the conference.

Brie Droege recorded her second double-double with team highs of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Brie also had two assists, two blocks, and one steal. Avery White followed with 12 points, four assists, three rebounds, and one steal. Emma Thornton and Lacie Kringe combined for 21 points, two blocks, and five steals. Kringe also contributed four assists and six rebounds, while Caitlin Marten grabbed eight rebounds and posted two blocks.
ESU shot 42.4% from the field, had 11 steals, and posted seven blocks.
How it Happened
The first quarter began with consecutive baskets from White that gave ESU an early 5-0 lead. Shippensburg hit a three-pointer at 4:53 to pull within one point. Brie responded with a three-pointer to put the Warriors up four points, 12-8. Shippensburg tied the score at 14-14, then the Warriors followed with a six-point run to end the quarter ahead, 20-14.
Lilly Riggi opened the second quarter with a layup , and White made her second three-pointer at 8:03, 25-16. Around the 6:30 mark, Brie made consecutive baskets to push the Warriors' lead to 14 points, 30-16. The teams traded baskets around the five-minute mark, with Thornton making two baskets. Shippensburg ended the half with a 6-2 run, with ESU ahead by nine, 36-27.
The Warriors opened the third quarter, going a perfect 3-3 from the field. Riggi and Brie added baskets around the five-minute mark to push their advantage to 17 points, 48-31.
At 8:56 in the fourth quarter, White grabbed a steal and converted it with a layup. Thornton's two made baskets and one extended ESU's lead to 20 points. The quarter ended with a Raider 7-2 run, with Riley Nausedas making two free throws for the Warriors.
