Quintois, Blose Earn Athlete of the Week Honors from the PSAC

11/2/2026 2:30:00 PM

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Capping off an eventful Week 9 for the ESU football team, the PSAC announced that kicker Ty Quintois and defensive lineman Ashton Blose were named the PSAC East Special Teams and Defensive Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Considering the stakes of the Warriors' game against No. 3 Kutztown, Quintois delivered with arguably the best single-game performance by a kicker in ESU history. It was a record-setting day for the 2025 All-American, breaking both the PSAC single-game mark and the program single-season record for made field goals, making 11 consecutive attempts, and tying the single-season mark with seven field goals of 40 yards or more. Quintois went 6-for-7 on field goal tries, his lone miss coming on a 57-yard try at the end of regulation, accounting for 20 of the Warriors' 32 points as he made both his PATs. He's now 20-of-24 on the year, leading Division II by four field goals and the PSAC by nine. While ranking tied for 10th in Division II with an 83.3% FG%, he's the only kicker with 20 or more makes or averaging over 2.0 made field goals per game. Quintois is further etching his name into the Warriors' record book, now ranking first in career FG% (73.6%) and PAT% (98.1%) while having the second-most points by a kicker in a season in program history with 96 and counting.

Blose delivered in ESU's biggest game of the season with his best performance of 2026, leading the defensive efforts with seven tackles, a solo sack, and a forced fumble. The Warriors held the Golden Bears to over 20 points below their season average in the 32-25 overtime win to clinch a spot in the PSAC Championship, as Blose created constant pressure off the edge. ESU forced Kutztown to punt a season-high seven times while holding them to their lowest third-down conversion percentage of the year, 28.6%. Blose and company's ability to collapse the pocket and force quick decisions led to Kutztown having its first game of having a completion percentage below 50.0%, as the Golden Bears only completed 20 of their 41 attempts. The Glassboro native helped end two Kutztown drives in the third quarter to keep the Warriors ahead, coming up with an assisted tackle on a 4th-and-1 run in the ESU red zone, then getting a strip sack on third down the following drive. He stepped up in overtime to keep Kutztown out of the end zone, making two tackles on consecutive plays before pressuring Judd Novak into an errant throw on the final snap of the game.

Quintois and Blose have previously been named PSAC East Athletes of the Week two other times — Quintois being recognized to start the season and once in 2025, while both of Blose's awards came last year — bringing ESU's season total up to six honors from five athletes. For Blose, he is now tied with Deshawn McCarthy for the second-most weekly division honors with three, trailing Matt Freed's five accolades. Quintois is also now second in program history with three awards, tied with his teammate Adam Noll and Justin Cook, while trailing Devin Bartholomew by one.

The Warriors clinched a share of the PSAC East title on Saturday, punching their ticket to the PSAC Championship game at Slippery Rock in two weeks. Before that, they have a chance to become outright division champions this weekend when they travel to Millersville to take on the Marauders at noon on Saturday, Nov. 7.
