Women's Basketball Closes Out Regular Season with Road Win over West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University women's basketball team closed out the regular season with a 59-55 victory over West Chester Saturday afternoon. 

The Warriors improved to 17-11 overall and 12-9 in conference play, while the Golden Rams finished the 2026 season 11-16 overall and 7-14 in the PSAC.

Notables 
Brie Droege led the floor with 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, and had two steals. Lacie Kringe followed with 13 points, six rebounds, and an assist. CaitlinMarten grabbed a team high of nine rebounds while Jess Devine led with four assists.  

How it Happened 
Brie opened the scoring with a layup while Devine followed with a three-pointer at 7:38. Kringe and Droege each added baskets, but West Chester held an 11-10 edge at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, consecutive baskets from Droege put ESU ahead 18-16 with 7:18 remaining. Around the five minute mark, Marten made a layup and Lilly Riggi hit a three-pointer, 23-20. The teams traded baskets late in the quarter, and the Warriors carried a 27-24 advantage into halftime.

Brie made two free throws to open the third quarter, while Kringe followed with seven points to extend ESU's advantage to 36-29. The Warriors continued their run with a three-pointer from White and a layup from Brie, 41-29. The quarter ended with two free throws from Devine and layup by Riggi.   

West Chester responded with a 13-2 run to open the fourth, cutting the deficit to 47-42. The Warriors answered at the line with three free throws, while the Golden Rams connected on back-to-back three-pointers to make it 50-48 with 2:25 remaining. ESU made free throws to seal the win, while WCU added two final three-pointers.

The No. 3E Warriors will host No. 6E Millersville on Monday, March 2, in a first-round matchup of the PSAC Tournament at 5:30 p.m.
