EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The Warriors hit the road this weekend to venture into enemy territory as they take on the Shepherd Rams. The two teams went down to the wire in their last meeting, which ended in a two-point win for the Warriors.

SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURG

  • After a 22-point win over Bloomsburg on Wednesday, ESU looks to continue its winning ways on the road. With the win, ESU is now second in the conference with a 10-5 PSAC record.
  • Carson Howard led the team in scoring with 13 points. This is the third time this season that Howard went perfect from the field, shooting 5-5 against Bloomsburg. He’s currently third on the team in FG%, shooting at a 58.0% clip.
  • The team leader in FG%, Adrian Brito, bounced back with an outstanding performance on Wednesday, finishing the first double-double of his ESU career. Brito scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and still has the highest FG% on the team with 61.3%.
  • Jalen Pichardo also had a perfect game on Wednesday, going 3-3 from the field and was perfect from the charity stripe, shooting 4-4. Pichardo continues to rebound at a high level, averaging 8.2 RPG, and has excelled specifically on the offensive glass, grabbing 3.6 per game.
  • Ethan Millirons has been a consistent sniper for the Warriors, shooting 48.3% from deep, second-best in the country.
  • The Warriors love to share the basketball, ranked 18th in the country and 3rd in the conference in assists per game, averaging 17.5. Freshman Keni Williams leads the team in assists, averaging 3.2 APG, and had a career-high in assists with 10 in the win against Lock Haven earlier in the season
  • The Warriors' offensive rebounding is something they pride themselves on as they are ranked 6th in the country, averaging 15.7 ORPG.
  • The Warriors' bench has been a strength all season, making it tough for opponents to game-plan defensively with so many different scoring options. The second unit ranks second in Division II, averaging 45.5 PPG.
  • This contributes to their scoring offense, which is ranked 2nd in the PSAC, only behind Gannon. ESU’s offense is also nationally ranked 16th in DII basketball, averaging 88.4 PPG.

SCOUTING SHEPHERD

  • The Rams are currently 9-5 against PSAC opponents, holding fourth place in the PSAC East. Shepherd has won its last four games after losing three out of four before the beginning of its winning streak. The Rams lost their first meetings to the three teams above them in the standings, West Chester, ESU, and Millersville, though all three were road games.
  • Marcus Banks is the name to watch for Shepherd, leading the team in scoring with 18.3 PPG. The guard ranks fifth in the conference in PPG and is the leader in free throw attempts and makes, going 136-179 from the charity stripe.
  • Shepherd’s second-leading scorer, Elwyne Wordlaw, has had a streaky season offensively, but has been hot as of late. Wordlaw scored 20+ points five times in six games in 2025, cooled off in the Rams’ first four games of 2026, but has gotten back to being a prolific and consistent scorer off the bench. In the seven games since Shepherd first played ESU, Wordlaw is averaging 17.4 PPG.
  • For a brief moment in January, Brody Davis was ahead of Millirons for 3P%, now shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc. Davis is the fifth-best shooter in the PSAC, putting up 10.2 PPG and grabbing 5.9 RPG.
  • Shepherd’s leading rebounder, Favor Okigweh, is a wing that crashes the boards hard, averaging 9.0 RPG. Okigweh is fifth in the conference in RPG, as well as BPG, with 1.1.
  • The Rams’ fourth scorer, averaging over 10.0 PP,G is Colby White, a freshman guard who’s posting 10.7 PPG. White is the team’s second-best shooter from deep, making 39.5% of his attempts.
  • Though the Rams don’t jump off the page offensively, it’s their defense that has helped them to this point. Shepherd has the best scoring defense in the conference, limiting opponents to 70.2 PPG.
  • As a team, the Rams only average 73.6 PPG, but excel in three-point shooting. Shepherd also leads the conference in that category, shooting 37.4%.

SERIES HISTORY

  • The Warriors are 11-5 against the Rams, with nine wins in their last 11 meetings.
  • ESU won the last game earlier in January against Shepherd, taking it 74-72 thanks to a last-second layup from Williams.
