EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Paige Moreland's record-tying 11-point performance against No. 14 Adelphi in ESU's 24-9 win earned the junior Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Offensive Athlete of the Week and PSAC East Co-Athlete of the Week honors, the organizations each announced Tuesday.
The attacker tied the program's single-game record (since 2004) for the most points in a game. Her five goals and six assists set new single-game career highs in goals, assists, and points. Additionally, she placed five of her six shot attempts on target, netting each one that was on goal.
She now joins her teammate
Ariana Tucci and PSAC 75 honoree Emily Mitarotonda with 11-point performances, as she helped lead ESU to its most goals in a game and largest margin of victory over a ranked opponent in program history. Her and Tucci are also the Warriors' two most recent IWLCA Players of the Week, becoming the eighth player in program history to receive the award. It is Moreland's first time being named a PSAC East Athlete of the Week, the second time for ESU this season after
Sadie Kauffman was named it on Feb. 25.
The other recipient of the PSAC weekly award was Kutztown's Katie Yocum, who tallied 14 goals across two games last week. The two teams will kick off conference play tomorrow at Kutztown, as the Warriors take on the Golden Bears at 3 p.m.
