Kauffman scored twice and added an assist, while Mintz was the opposite with one goal and two assists. Kauffman also finished with a season-high eight draw controls and four ground balls. HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warriors jumped out ahead early, taking control from the opening draw. Tucci had the ball on the left side of the field and moved it down to Roth as she began her run towards the goal. Fighting through contact, Roth opened the scoring in the first minute of the game. Later on in the quarter, ESU added two quick goals in succession, with Schiemer scoring off a cut and feed from Moreland, and Tucci dodging to create her own chance.
- The Marauders got on the board with 2:50 left in the quarter, but ESU responded before the frame ended. Moreland got another assist, connecting with Tucci to get the goal back a minute later. With the clock winding down, Emily Varilla intercepted a pass in the defensive zone and cleared it herself for one last possession. After passing it off to Kauffman, she moved it down to Roth, who took the space she had to move in and made it 5-1.
- ESU opened the second quarter with five-straight goals to put the game away before halftime. Four of those came in the first five minutes, as Schiemer, Tucci, Kauffman, and Roth all found the back of the net, with Julianna Callison recording an assist on the last goal, too. Tucci scored the 10th goal of the day for ESU halfway through the frame, though Millersville stopped the run with a late goal, making it 10-2 after the first 30 minutes.
- The Warriors continued to pour it on in the second half, reaching a 10-goal lead early for a running clock. Outscoring the Marauders 4-0 in the third, Izzie Mintz got on the board for the third-consecutive game. Callison got the Warriors' first goal of the fourth, followed by Kauffman, Schiemer twice, and Roth for the last tally. Millersville scored twice in the final frame, but never threatened the result, making it 19-4.
GAME NOTES
- The 15-goal win ties ESU's second-largest win over Millersville in program history. The Warriors beat the Marauders 18-3 at home last year and have now won 15-straight against Millersville.
- The Warriors' seven-game winning streak is now their second-longest streak to open the season, and it's also tied for the sixth-longest stretch in program history, matching last year's and 2019's streaks.
