LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Announced by the conference on Monday, Ariel Kelsick has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Athlete of the Week. This marks the junior's second time earning the honor, first of the season. 

Kelsick played a pivotal role in the Warriors' successful trip down to Florida, as ESU looks to continue its hot start to the spring season.

Against Minnesota State Moorhead, Kelsick's victory was the dual-clinching win for the Warriors, pulling out a 4-3 win over the Dragons. Kelsick bested Katryna Hansen 6-1, 7-5, out of the second spot in the lineup. 

To close out the week against California (Pa.), Kelsick delivered her best performance of the three duals, winning both her appearances on the day. Paired with Jenna Kastell in the top doubles pairing, they defeated Leandra Guldimann and Sofia Rodriguez 6-1. 

Her momentum carried over into singles play, where she beat Diletta Maria Mungo 6-2, 6-4, as the Warriors came away with a huge regional win. This victory moved Kelsick up to fourth for the most singles wins in program history, with 28 over her first two seasons.

Through the last two seasons, an ESU athlete has been awarded PSAC East Athlete of the Week a total of nine times, earning three consecutive this season. 

Kelsick and the Warriors will look to continue this string of strong performances at Lock Haven on Saturday for the 11 a.m. matchup.
