STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University softball team shutout Bloomsburg in Friday afternoon's doubleheader, winning game one 2-0 and game two 3-0. The Warriors limited the Huskies to just four hits on the day while totaling 15 of their own.
The Warriors are now 18-12 overall and 6-6 in conference action.
Notables
In game one, Kinsley Proepper and Megan Chroniger each recorded two hits, while Tulana Mingin, Maddin Grow, Katie Master, and Kaitlynn Colangelo added one hit apiece. Proepper and Georgia Tym scored the runs for the Warriors. Sarah Davenport improved to 10-6 on the season, recording nine strikeouts while allowing just two hits and no runs.
In game two, Mingin went 3-for-4 at the plate and scored one run. Grow, Delaney Ridgell, Proepper, and Maddy Pritchard each recorded a hit. Proepper scored once and drove in two runs, while Chroniger added an RBI and Macy Crum scored the third run. Tessa Guenette improved to 7-2 on the season, recording three strikeouts while allowing just two hits and no runs.
Game 1
The Warriors scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning when Chroniger delivered an RBI triple to left field to score Tym.
In the fourth inning, the Warriors recorded three straight singles from Proepper, Chroniger, and Master. ESU extended its lead to 2-0 when Proepper scored on Master's RBI single to center field.
Game 2
The Warriors got on the board in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run to right center by Proepper. Mingin reached on a single, stole second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch before scoring on the play.
In the fifth inning, the Warriors loaded the bases with consecutive singles from Mingin, Grow, and Ridgell. Proepper reached on a fielder's choice before a sacrifice fly from Chroniger scored Crum for the final run.
