Women's Tennis Places Five On All-PSAC East Teams; Haas Named Back-To-Back Coach Of The Year

5/14/2026 2:30:00 PM

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — After a historic season that saw the ESU women's tennis team set new single-season records in wins and longest winning streak, the Warriors earned five total All-PSAC East selections, and HC Troy Haas was named the PSAC East Coach of the Year in back-to-back seasons.

Haas has now been named the PSAC East Coach of the Year in two of his three seasons as the Warriors' head coach, leading the team to another record-breaking season. With 19 wins and a streak of 13 during the season, the Warriors won the PSAC East title with their first win over Bloomsburg in 47 years. Since the conference split tennis into East and West divisions in 2005, only six coaches have been named the PSAC East Coach of the Year. Including Haas, five of them have won the award in consecutive seasons, cementing him as one of the top leaders in the division in just his third season. Under Haas, ESU has gone from no All-PSAC selections to three last season and reaching five this year.

Ariel Kelsick and Jenna Kastell earned All-PSAC East First Team honors as singles players and as a tandem, with Audrey Conover and Alice Ehrenlechner being named to the Second Team. The Warriors' five All-PSAC East selections led the division and were tied with Slippery Rock for the second-most All-PSAC selections overall.

Kelsick, last year's PSAC East Freshman of the Year, improved her winning percentage this season as she went 17-6 in singles play. The sophomore from Antigua was named the PSAC East Athlete of the Week three times, playing primarily from the second spot in the lineup. Her winning percentage of .739 ranked fifth all-time for best singles record with a minimum of 10 wins.

Just ahead of Kelsick in winning percentage was Kastell, who went 15-5 for a .750 mark. In duals, she went 7-2 playing out of the third spot, and 5-0 from the fourth. Kastell was also named a PSAC East Athlete of the Week, earning the recognition on April 6. As a doubles pairing, went 11-5, including a perfect 5-0 in PSAC East play. During their last 10 completed matches of the season, the duo went 9-1, while leading 5-4 against Edinboro and 4-3 versus Slippery Rock before the doubles point was decided.

Both Kastell and Conover went undefeated in singles play against PSAC East teams, earning Conover her spot on the Second Team. Conover had a 17-8 overall record while going 7-1 from the fifth spot, where she played the most from. Her 17 wins are tied for the second-most in a season all-time with Kelsick from this season, Katie D'Ambrosia from 2010, and Jamie Ferrigno from 2008.

Rounding out the Warriors All-PSAC East honorees is Ehrenlechner, who went 15-6 this year. The freshman from Germany went 5-0 out of the fifth spot and 6-3 from the fourth spot in the lineup. She played her last eight completed matches in the fourth spot or higher in the lineup, going 5-3 in that stretch with four wins where she did not give up a game.
