STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The No. 2 East Stroudsburg University softball team fell to No. 3 Kutztown, 5-2, in Friday's NCAA Atlantic Regional Second Round matchup, moving the Warriors into the elimination bracket.
Karlye Teman led the team with two hits, while Maddin Grow, Megan Chroniger, and Georgia Tym recorded one apiece. Katie Master and Chroniger recorded RBIs, while Tym and Tulana Mingin scored the Warriors' two runs.
Kutztown jumped ahead in the top of the third, plating three runs on four hits and an ESU error.
The Warriors answered in the bottom half of the inning, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Mingin reached on a fielding error and later scored on Master's sacrifice fly to right field.
The Golden Bears added two more runs in the fifth inning to extend their advantage to 5-1.
ESU responded in the bottom of the fifth when Tym opened the inning with a double to left center and came around to score on Chroniger's RBI double to left center.
