NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — With the Division II women's lacrosse season finished, East Stroudsburg ended the year ranked tied fourth by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
The fourth-place finish in the rankings is tied for the second-best placement in the final IWLCA rankings ESU has ever had, only behind the Warriors' second-place ranking in 2022. ESU also finished the season fourth in 2021.
Tying the program record for wins in their 20-2 campaign, the Warriors broke plenty of other team records this season. ESU went undefeated in the regular season for the first time, winning 18-straight games, and scoring 403 goals — 75 more than the previous record. The Warriors began the year with nine consecutive wins by double-digit goals, including three-straight games of 20 goals or more for the first time ever as well. ESU had a 9-2 record against ranked opponents, their best record and most wins against ranked teams in a season. The Warriors also went a perfect 13-0 in games at Whitenight Field, winning all 10 of their regular-season games, their PSAC Tournament Quarterfinal matchup, and both NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament contests.
