PLEASANTVILLE, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team earned a nonconference victory over Pace on Sunday afternoon, securing a 2-1 win behind Gianna DaCunha's game-winning goal with less than two minutes remaining.
The Warriors totaled 15 shots in the first half and nine in the second, with 13 of those being on goal. Pace recorded 10 of their 18 total shots on goal.
DaCunha led the team with three shots on goal, while Sophia Lowery, Kali O'Connell, and Jade Wiley each posted two shots on goal. Ava Perrone played all 90 minutes and recorded nine saves in goal. O'Connell and DaCunha both recorded the first goals of their collegiate careers.
After a scoreless opening half, O'Connell broke through at the 48:50 mark, giving the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
The Setters later tied the game with a goal at the 72:15 mark.
With less than two minutes on the clock, DaCunha netted the game-winning goal at 88:28.
