College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team (2024)
2024 Season Highlights: Moira Delaney started all 18 matches in 2024, serving as a mainstay in the back line and anchoring a unit that helped deliver a +14 goal differential. She logged a full 90 minutes in a 3–0 shutout victory over Kutztown (Nov. 6), showcasing her endurance and defensive discipline.
Delaney contributed offensively with a shot attempt at Lock Haven (Oct. 30) and consistently provided structure and composure in the defensive third. Delaney earned honors as a member of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Junior (2023): Started all 19 games … first college goal against Lock Haven (10/25) … finished the season with two points and 1,710 minutes played in the back line.
Sophomore (2022): Appeared in 19 contests ... made 18 starts ... anchored the Warrior back line which ranked 9th in the PSAC allowing only 1.16 goals per game ... registered first collegiate assist against Shippensburg (10/19) ... posted eight shots ... one shot on goal came against Mansfield (10/2) ... tallied 1,359 minutes on the back line.
Freshman at Rhode Island (2021): Appeared in three contests for the Rams against Northeastern, Brown and Davidson ... played a season-high 22 minutes against Northeastern.
Background: Member of the New York Club team while also spending time with PDP Select, Cedar Stars, and Clarkstown Soccer Club ... Captained the PDP Select team and made an appearance at the Gothia Cup in 2018 ... also a member of the basketball team at Monroe Woodbury ... Participated in multiple extracurricular activities including Girl Scouts, orchestra, and honors English ... Also volunteered on Veterans Day serving breakfast ... Originally chose Rhode Island over St. Bonaventure and Quinnipiac ... ESU was also in consideration for her freshman season ... Favorite athletes are Gareth Bale and Julie Ertz ... Favorite team is Tottenham Hotspur.
