Biography

Senior (Game-by-Game): Received a handful of awards, including becoming the first ESU player to be named PSAC Defensive Player of the Year, during a standout final season with the program … also named first team All-PSAC, first team United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region and first team D2CCA All-Atlantic Region … ESU Team Co-MVP (with midfielder Christian Bukowski) ... 2nd team MVP honor, also recognized as freshman in 2014. 

Started every game for the Warriors for a fourth-consecutive season, anchoring a backline which posted nine shutouts and allowed a total of 17 goals in 20 contests … led a defense which surrendered only one goal across 799:39 minutes of game action from Oct. 10 through the PSAC Championship game on Nov. 5 … also contributed three goals and an assist offensively … assist came in a 3-0 road PSAC win at California (9/22) … netted a late game-tying goal in ESU’s eventual 4-3 double overtime victory at Shippensburg (9/27) … added another goal against Pitt-Johnstown (10/13), and scored the game-winner in a 3-0 win over Mercyhurst (10/31) in the first round of the PSAC tournament … started all three games during ESU’s run towards its first PSAC title since 2007 … was one of four Warriors to start all 20 games overall … started all 70 of ESU’s games at center back during his four-year career.

Junior (Game-by-Game): Was one of seven Warriors to start all 16 games … played a key role on an ESU defense which allowed one goal or fewer in 9 of 16 games … fired in his second collegiate goal in a 3-1 PSAC victory over Lock Haven (9/24) … added five shots on the year, four of which were directed on goal.

Sophomore (Game-by-Game): Named to All-PSAC 2nd team ... Espinola and forward Casey Choffy (1st team) were first ESU players named All-PSAC since Nick Fischer in 2012 ... started all 16 games at center back ... had goal and assist for first career points ... assist in 3-0 win vs. Shepherd in season opener ... scored in 2-1 loss vs. Caldwell.

Freshman (Game-by-Game): Named ESU's team MVP ... started all 18 games at center back ... one of 5 players to start every game, and one of 3 freshmen.
