Minton will be entering his second year as an assistant coach and third overall in 2022-23 with the Warriors after joining the program as a graduate assistant. He serves as the recruiting coordinator for ESU and will continue working with the pitchers and catchers.
In the 2022 season, the pitching staff helped guide the Warriors to the PSAC Championship Game and NCAA Atlantic Super Regional after setting school records with 502.1 innings pitched and 522 strikeouts while compiling a 3.87 ERA, the third lowest since 1980. ESU was anchored by All-PSAC East First Team selections Brent Francisco and Chase Nowak, who each earned additional recognition on the ABCA/Rawlings, D2CCA & NCBWA All-Atlantic Region teams. Francisco set the single-season records for innings pitched (89.1) and strikeouts (116), while Nowak tied for the best winning percentage with a perfect 9-0 record.
A graduate of SUNY Brockport, Maddux played three years for the Golden Eagles baseball program before transitioning to an assistant coach role in his final season. Minton, who recorded 41 strikeouts across 43.2 innings in his career, helped coach the Brockport pitchers.
In the summer of 2020, Minton worked at RPP Baseball Training & Development as a throwing coach. He assisted with video analysis breakdowns, 3D motion captures and pitch designs for their pitchers.
Prior to joining the Warriors coaching in 2019-20, Minton worked under an associate of the National Pitching Association at Line Drive Baseball Academy in Honeoye, N.Y.
Minton is a native of Conesus, N.Y. and a certified strength and conditioning specialist.
