Andrew Strobel is in his first season as defensive backs coach at East Stroudsburg University during the 2014 season.
Strobel was previously an assistant coach for four years at Culver-Stockton, an NAIA institution in Canton, Missouri. He was defensive coordinator in 2013 after joining the staff as defensive backs coach in 2010.
He also served as special teams coordinator from 2010-12, strength and conditioning coach in 2011 and was the program's academic coordinator. His additional experience includes time as football operations intern with Arena 2 in summer 2008.
Culver-Stockton had seven defensive backs receive All-Conference recognition in his four seasons. He coached two defenses that were ranked in the top 15 in the NAIA in fewest passing yards allowed.
Strobel was a four-year member of the football program (2006-09) at Northern Michigan, earning his degree in Entertainment and Sport Promotion with a minor in Marketing in 2009. He was a three-time member of the GLIAC Fall All-Academic Team.
He was named the program's Freshman of the Year in 2007 and had more than 120 career tackles.
Strobel holds a Master's degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, Calif., where he graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average.
Strobel and his wife, Carrie, have two children - a daughter Payton (1) and newborn son Michael.
