Eric Saenz enters his third season as defensive line coach at ESU during the 2018 season.
Saenz coached nose guard Marc Ranaudo to first team All-PSAC East and third team Football Gazette All-Region honors in 2016. Defensive end Ahmad McFarland was named All-PSAC East second team for the second straight season.
Saenz was previously was the defensive line and special teams coach at Lock Haven from 2009-14, where he coached three All-PSAC selections in defensive end Nick Gounaris (2009-10), defensive tackle Skyler Wool (2011-12) and defensive end Tyrek Morgan (2013).
He also has coaching experience at John F. Kennedy High School (N.Y.) as offensive/defensive line coach in 2007-08, Christ the King Regional as assistant head coach and line coach from 2003-06 and defensive film breakdown coordinator in 2015, and Holy Trinity Diocesan High School as freshman head coach and line coach in 2002.
Saenz was an offensive lineman at C.W. Post and graduated in 2001. He was a member of the 2001 Northeast-10 championship team and two runner-up teams. He is a graduate of Christ the King Regional High School.
Saenz has camp experience with NFL High School Player Development, USA Football Youth Coaches Clinic (NY Giants/NY Jets), Penn State and Ohio State.
