After a four-year playing career for the Warriors, Shaquille Stephenson joined the ESU men’s soccer staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2018 season. He enters his fourth season an assistant coach under Rob Berkowitz in 2022.

The Warriors have earned PSAC Tournament berths three of Stephenson's four seasons on the staff while posting a 27-21-6 combined record. ESU had 13 All-PSAC selections, four garner United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors and four collect CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades over the last three seasons.

Stephenson started 18 of the 19 games he appeared during his senior season in 2017, playing a key role on both sides of the field while helping the Warriors earn their first PSAC title since 2007. He totaled two goals and three assists offensively, and he contributed to a backline which allowed only 17 goals in 20 contests on the year. Overall, Stephenson made 66 appearances for the Warriors, earning starts in 47 of those contests.

In addition to his current role at ESU, Stephenson coaches for Lehigh Valley United, a member of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, and Nazareth Soccer Club. He also worked in the ESU soccer office throughout his time as an undergrad, and he volunteers annually for the Monroe County Special Olympics.

Stephenson graduated from ESU in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in public health. He currently resides in East Stroudsburg.
