Men’s DMR Improves NCAA DII Provisional Time at New Balance Collegiate Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. - East Stroudsburg University's men's Distance Medley Relay improved its NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time to highlight the Warriors' performances at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory in New York City on Friday night.

ESU's quartet of senior Mike Saparito, junior Keith Parker-Washington, and seniors Amr Aldeen and Frank Fezza ran 10:13.53, placing seventh in a field of 16 as the top Division II finisher. The Warriors ran 10:15.18 last week at Bucknell, the third-fastest time in the PSAC and seventh-best in Division II.

Junior Chris Schneider also stood out, running the 3000m in 8:38.59, a 10-second PR and the fourth-fastest time in school history. Schneider was third of 14 runners in the men's Eastern version of the race and the top DII finisher.

The women's DMR of junior Kim Wernerspach, senior Lauren Ventrella, sophomore Imani Rosario and senior Rose Mascoli was just off its NCAA DII provisional pace from last week. The Warriors ran 12:26.68 after recording 12:24.55 at Bucknell.

Senior Corinne Fitzgerald ran 10:45.57 in the 3000m and Ventrella clocked 9.37 in the 60m hurdles.

The Warriors' full squad will be in action on Saturday at the 14th Annual DeSchriver Invitational at Koehler Fieldhouse.
