EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University scored four goals in a 20-minute stretch in the second half, rallying past Gannon for a 4-2 win in a rematch of last year's PSAC men's soccer championship game on Saturday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

ESU (7-4, 4-3) got a goal and an assist each from graduate students Jordon Ellison and Nico Gericke and junior Marcus Torgersson, and a goal by senior Eddy Enowbi, to knock off the Golden Knights for the second straight meeting, following a 1-0 win in the 2017 PSAC title game.

Gannon (7-4, 6-1) had won seven straight, including six straight shutouts with a 16-0 goal margin to open PSAC action, and blanked the Warriors in the first half while getting an opening goal by Joe Knox in the 30th minute.

ESU tied it on a goal by Torgersson, assisted by Gericke, in the 63rd minute – then scored twice in a span of 2:30 to go in front.

Enowbi punched in a rebound off a shot by Ellison in the 74th minute, followed by a header by Gericke on a free kick by senior Jo Panuccio in the 76th minute, for a 3-1 lead. Panuccio scored the PSAC-winning goal on a free kick in the fifth minute last fall.

Ellison added ESU's fourth goal, assisted by Torgersson, to make it 4-1 in the 83rd minute. Gannon pulled one back on a goal by Alex Lee Yaw with 95 seconds left.

Senior Will Boerema, last year's PSAC Tournament MVP, had four saves in goal for ESU.

Hedi Mehnaoui had seven saves for Gannon, which had conceded just one goal – in a 2-1 win vs. Urbana on September 29 – since a 3-2 loss at Daemen on September 10.

The Warriors had a 17-11 advantage in shots, including 8-2 in the first half despite Gannon's goal, before scoring on four of their nine shots after halftime.

Torgersson had his first goal and assist of the season after posting five goals and eight assists through his first two seasons.

Enowbi, who scored five goals in ESU's first three games, scored his first since September 9 and the 16th of his career.

Ellison (three goals, five assists) and Gericke (two goals, three assists) both extended their season totals.

Gannon had won the previous six meetings prior to last year's PSAC championship game, and leads the all-time series, 11-7-2.

The Warriors are back on the field on Friday at Pitt-Johnstown (2-9, 0-6). Saturday's win pushed ESU to fourth in the PSAC standings, with the top six making the conference tournament following the 11-game slate.
