EAST STROUDSBURG – Sophomore back Oliver Lundberg scored his first career goal in the 19th minute, and sophomore forward Anton Lysell and graduate student Jordon Ellison scored within four minutes midway through the second half, giving East Stroudsburg University a 3-0 win over California (Pa.) in PSAC men's soccer on Friday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

ESU (4-2, 1-1), the defending PSAC champion, leveled its conference record at 1-1 after a 1-0 loss at preseason favorite West Chester on September 12. The Warriors were coming off a 2-1 win vs. Holy Family on Tuesday.

ESU held an 11-4 advantage in shots and senior goalkeeper Will Boerema made one save for his second shutout of the season and the 15th overall (14th solo) of his career.

Lundberg opened the scoring with a diving header on a cross from senior midfielder Brandon Levano.

It remained 1-0 until the 72nd minute, as Lysell put in the rebound of a shot by junior back Erik Cardoso that was blocked. Cardoso, a transfer from Judson (Ill.), notched his first career assist on the play.

Ellison extended the lead to 3-0 in the 76th minute, scoring in his second straight game for his second goal of the season, dribbling around the goalkeeper outside the 18-yard box and finishing in the open net. Ellison had a goal and an assist in Tuesday's win over Holy Family, and has two goals and three assists this fall.

Lucas Exner, the PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Year as a sophomore for Cal in 2016, had two saves for the Vulcans (1-1-3, 0-1), who dropped their PSAC opener.

ESU travels to Millersville (2-1-4, 0-0-1) for conference action on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Marauders have tied four straight games, all by 1-1 scores, including their PSAC opener at Seton Hill on Friday.
