KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Redshirt senior
Josh Williams totaled a career-high 30 points to go along with 12 rebounds, leading East Stroudsburg University to a 93-83 victory at Kutztown on Saturday.
The Warriors (12-6, 9-3 PSAC) bounce back from a one-point home loss to West Chester on Wednesday while earning a fourth-straight win over the Golden Bears (11-9, 5-7 PSAC).
Williams becomes the first ESU player to reach 30 points since
Rasheed Moore netted 33 against Lock Haven in a PSAC tournament win over Lock Haven on Feb. 27, 2017. He added his team-leading ninth double-double of the season, a total which ranks among the Division II leaders on the year.

Ryan Smith also reached double figures with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Kutztown's Anthony Lee, who entered today ranked first in the PSAC in points per game (29.0) and second in 3-point field goal percentage (44.7), totaled 23 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and five steals. He hit just 7 of 19 field goal attempts, and went 0 for 7 from long distance.
With the score tied 20-20 midway through the opening half, two 3-pointers by redshirt sophomore
Troy Jones highlighted a 12-4 run for ESU. He led the Warrior reserves on the afternoon, contributing nine points (3-5 3FG), five rebounds and four assists in 20 minutes of action.
A dunk and a layup from Williams capped a 9-0 stretch later in the half which gave ESU its largest lead of 51-33.
Kutztown ultimately trailed 51-38 at the intermission. The home side got within single digits twice in the second half, with the last time at 65-56 with 11:34 remaining. The Warriors, though, responded with six-straight points and were not threatened for the remainder of the contest.
Williams hit 11 of 17 shots from the field, including both of his 3-point attempts, and five of his 12 rebounds came on the offensive end. His previous career-high scoring outing was a 29-point effort at California (PA) on Dec. 19. Williams averages a team-best 16.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game overall.
Jakwan Jones upped his PSAC-leading assist average to 6.1 per game with his game-high nine this afternoon. He has totaled five or more assists in 13 of 18 appearances on the year.
The Warriors begin a stretch of three-straight home games at Koehler Fieldhouse on Wednesday, when they host Millersville in a PSAC East matchup at 8 p.m.
