OVERVIEW
  • ESU (5-1, 2-1 PSAC East) allowed 21 first-quarter points on Saturday in a 35-13 loss against No. 21 Kutztown. The Warriors found the end zone in the third quarter as redshirt sophomore ran the ball in from the one-yard line.
  • Cirillo went 32-of-49 through the air to go along with 227 yards passing and 44 yards rushing. Redshirt senior wide receiver RJ Sarajian paced the Warriors with 7 catches for 63 yards.
  • Bloomsburg gave No. 12 West Chester all it could handle on Saturday as the Huskies dropped a 20-17 decision against the Golden Rams.
  • The Huskies had an opportunity to tie or take the lead as Bloomsburg got the ball following a huge defensive stop with 2:14 left in regulation trailing by three.

THE SERIES: Bloomsburg Leads 42-39-2
  • Saturday's meeting will be the 84th all-time between the two teams. 
  • The series between the Warriors and Huskies started in 1927 and featured the pair meeting in the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2005. ESU would win that matchup 52-39.
  • Bloomsburg holds a 12-1 record against the Warriors since 2006. ESU's last win in the series came in 2015.
  • The series is the second oldest active series in program history for ESU. The 83 games played between ESU and Bloomsburg are the most against any PSAC opponent.

THE HEAD COACHES

ESU - Jimmy Terwilliger (ESU '07)
  • Beginning his first full-season as head coach of the Warriors in 2019 after taking over for legendary head coach Denny Douds for the final two games last season.
  • Terwilliger went 1-1 to finish the 2018 season as the Warriors defeated Clarion on the road 23-17 on Nov. 10.
  • He was named the ninth head coach in program history on Feb. 25, 2019 in a press conference held in Koehler Fieldhouse.
  • Terwilliger, who graduated from ESU in 2007 is one of five head coaches in the PSAC who played at their alma mater, along with Chris Weibel (Clarion), Mark Maciejewski (Shippensburg), Gary Dunn (California), and Daniel Day (Seton Hill).
  • He is the second Harlon Hill Trophy recipient (NCAA DII's Top Football Player) to coach at his alma mater (Chris Hatcher, Valdosta State - 1994; 2000-06).

Bloomsburg - Paul Darragh (Temple '85)
  • Seventh year as head coach at Bloomsburg
  • 42-27 record with the Huskies, including a 5-1 mark against ESU
  • Named head coach on Dec. 6, 2013 after serving as interim head coach
  • 23rd season overall at Bloomsburg; spent 16 seasons as the defensive coordinator under head coach Danny Hale.

WARRIORS FACTS
  • ESU's 5-1 start matches the 2008 campaign that saw the Warriors finish with a 9-2 record. After dropping back-to-back games, ESU won its final four games of the season.
  • The Warriors are searching for their first six-win season since 2015. ESU finished 6-5 and defeated Bloomsburg at home 35-34 that season.
  • The Warriors hold an 18-19-1 record against the Huskies at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

STATS OF THE GAME
  • Sophomore wide receiver Rece Bender hauled in six catches for 52 yards, while redshirt junior running back Devante Robinson tallied 43 yards on 10 carries.
  • ESU was able to get its first points of the contest with just over a minute left in the opening frame as senior kicker Jordan Walters put one through the uprights from 41-yards out, cutting the deficit to 21-3.
  • The Warriors were able to put together a 61-yard drive in the final 1:10 of the half, and Walters nailed his second field goal of the game, this time a 36-yarder as time expired, to make it a 35-6 game heading into the halftime break.
  • ESU found the end zone in the third quarter as Cirillo guided the Warriors on a 17- play 87-yard drive. Cirillo found Sarajian for a 15-yard pass and catch on fourth down to keep the drive alive.
