KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The East Stroudsburg University baseball team tallied 11 runs off 13 hits in game two en route to a doubleheader sweep against Kutztown on Thursday in PSAC East action at North Campus Field. The Warriors opened the day with a 6-2 win followed by an 11-0 victory.

ESU (26-12, 12-6) received a pair of strong pitching performances on the day from junior Connor Johnson (game one) and junior Cam Voss (game two). The Warriors also tallied 20 hits on the day to go along with six extra-base hits. Kutztown (4-24, 3-15) tallied eight hits in game one but stranded eight runners on base.

ESU would add some insurance runs in the top of the sixth inning as Torreullas plated a pair with a single to center field that increased the lead to 6-2.

Redshirt freshman Chase Nowak worked a pair of clean innings out of the bullpen for ESU to preserve the victory. Nowak yielded just one hit and fanned three batters in two innings of work, while Johnson (3-1) earned the win after tossing five innings and allowing two runs off seven hits.

The Warriors would score early and often in game two as redshirt senior Christian Rishel made it 1-0 in the first inning off a ground-rule double that scored Kauffman. ESU increased its advantage to 3-0 in the second inning as Kauffman plated a pair of runs with a single to right field.

Redshirt senior Mike Sulcoski upped the lead for ESU to 4-0 in the top of the third inning with a single, while Torreullas cleared the bases later in the inning with a single of his own to make it 7-0 in favor of the Warriors.
