INDIANPOLIS, IND. – The East Stroudsburg University field hockey team earned the No. 4 seed in the 2022 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Tournament, revealed on Monday afternoon by the NCAA. The Warriors will host No. 5 Bentley on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field.
The winner of ESU and Bentley will play top seed, Shippensburg (18-0), who earned a first-round bye and an automatic bid into the NCAA Semifinals.
Assumption (20-1), who was awarded the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye, awaits the winner of No. 3 West Chester (15-4) and No. Adelphi (14-5).
ESU advances to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time in school history and for the sixth consecutive season. The Warriors are 5-7 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, including their national championship in 2015.
The 2021 NCAA Division II National Championship Semifinals and Championship Game will be played on the campus of Millersville University at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium. The semifinal games are scheduled for 2 and 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 and the championship game is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21.
