WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Senior
Dominic Walton recorded a first place finish in the shot put at West Chester's Last Chance Meet on Saturday to highlight the East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team's final tune-up prior to next week's PSAC Championships.
Walton took first in the event for the second straight week after recording a season-best throw of 16.65m.
Running Highlights
Zandrew Bowe finished third in the 400m dash after clocking a personal-best time of 50.02 seconds and
Sean Roberts was fifth with a season-best time of 50.53 seconds.
ESU finished three through five in the 110m hurdles with
Daniel Daley (15.80) leading the way in third,
Nasir Kyle (15.82) finishing fourth and
Caleb Carney (15.87) taking fifth. In the 400m hurdles,
Lawrence Bass paced the Warriors in fourth after crossing the finish line in 56.56 seconds.
In the 1500m,
Luke Valdevit finished third with a personal-best time of 4:05.08 while
Teddy Mostellar took sixth with a personal-best time of 4:08.68.
Alejandro Paez took fifth for the Warriors in the 800m after finishing with a time of 2:00.21.
Field Highlights
Walton highlighted the field events for the Warriors with a first place finish in the shot put after recording a season-best mark of 16.65m. Issac Almoney was just behind in third with a throw of 13.89m.
Walton followed it up with a runner-up finish in the discus as he recorded a throw 46.67m and Almoney rounded out the top five with a personal-best mark of 43.35m.
In the hammer,
Daryn Blackwell took third with a toss of 51.42m and Almoney recorded a fifth place finish with another personal-best throw of 50.44m.
Senior
Dan Amari led the charge in the pole vault for the Warriors by taking third place after clearing the bar at 4.25m.
After competing in running events,
Austin Nice and Dailey took to the long jump where Nice took third with a season-best mark of 6.40m and Dailey was fourth with a personal-best leap of 6.23m.
