Cook Named Men’s Outstanding Field Athlete, Stevenosky Defends Title in Javelin

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The East Stroudsburg University men's track & field team had a strong showing on the final day of the 2026 PSAC Outdoor Championships. The team placed third with 122 points, won four events, and totaled 10 All-PSAC honors. Jalen Cook was named the Men's Outstanding Field Athlete following his record-breaking performance in the high jump.

Track Highlights 

The 4x400m relay highlighted the track events, capturing the title with a time of 3:13.64. The relay consisted of Chase Temple, Jayden Johnson, Ajani Miller, and Mark Jackson

Both Jayden Johnson and Mark Jackson earned All-PSAC honors in the 400m. Johnson took second with a time of 47.83 which moves him to sixth all-time, while Jackson placed third in 48.32. 

The men's 4x100m relay consisting of Michael Stank, Miguel Charlery, Nico Gasque, and Jaylen Morrison finished in 41.37 to place fourth. 

Raqeeb Somoye earned podium finishes in both the 110m hurdles (14.89) and the 400m hurdles (56.12), placing sixth in both.

Nico Gasque earned podium finishes in both the 100m and the 200m, placing seventh in both. His time of 10.70 in the 100m moves him to seventh all-time, while he finished in 21.92 in the 200m. 

Field Highlights 

Chris Costa earned a podium finish in the pole vault, tying for fourth with a mark of 4.66m (15 feet, 3 ½ inches).  

Anthony Voto earned All-PSAC honors with his third place finish in the shot put with an NCAA provisional mark of 17.59m (57 feet, 8 ½ inches). Voto improved his mark which ranks third all-time. 

Luke Stevenosky defended his title in the javelin with an NCAA provisional mark of 69.02m (226 feet, 5 inches). Joseph Roth also earned a podium finish, placing sixth with a mark of 59.19m (194 feet, 2 inches). 

ESU placed four on the podium in the triple jump, while Daniel Smith led with an All-PSAC performance. Smith placed third with an NCAA provisional mark of 14.80m (48 feet, 6 ¾ inches), improving his mark that ranks eighth all-time. Nasir Heard (14.53m) and Peter Stanislavsky (14.53m) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, while Jaden Johnson (14.32m) placed seventh.
