ATLANTA – The East Stroudsburg University women's basketball team earned special mention on the 2020-21 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls, announced on Tuesday by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2020-21 season is the 26th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

"I am so proud of how hard our student athletes worked on and most importantly off the court this year," said head coach Stephanie Del Preore. "In a very unconventional year, they persevered and focused on academics first and it shows."

The Warriors, who were awarded with ESU's team achievement award for the highest cumulative GPA among women's programs, posted a 3.74 GPA for the academic year.

Twelve Warriors were recently recognized as PSAC Scholar-Athletes this year including, Carley Adams, Claire Courter, Sadie Cresswell, Bianca Giordano, Cassandra Ksiazek, Julia Kutz, Danielle Muntone, Leah Pishock, Gwenn Sabato, Abby Schoffstall, Kaitlyn Swint and Magdelynn Wigoda.
