7/28/2021 11:59:00 AM

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – East Stroudsburg University field hockey head coach Sandy Miller has unveiled the Warriors' 2021 schedule which features eight home matches, eight non-conference contests and an always challenging 10-game PSAC slate.

"We are really looking forward to this year after losing our 2020 season due to COVID," said Miller, who enters her 37th season at the helm. We worked hard this spring as a group, and our athletes are extra motivated for the fall season. We have a solid mix of returners and a promising incoming class of freshman and transfers, so we are excited to watch them grow and excel.  We will be ready to go, and we are eager for a new challenge this fall. "

Following scrimmages against Pace (Aug. 19), Bucknell (Aug. 21) and Lock Haven (Aug.24), the Warriors open the regular season with a pair of road non-conference dates – Sept. 4 against Stone Hill and Sept. 5 versus Assumption.

ESU returns to Whitenight Field for three of their next four games, beginning on Sept. 7 versus Molloy, followed by Adelphi on Sept. 9. After a non-conference contest at Kutztown on Sept. 14, the Warriors welcome Lindenwood on Sept. 18.

The Warriors wrap up their non-conference slate with games against Saint Anselm (at New Haven) on Sept. 19 and on the road versus Frostburg State on Sept. 22.

The PSAC opener is set for Sept. 26 at Mercyhurst which is followed by the Warriors returning home for a matchup against Shippensburg on Sept. 29. ESU is back on the road for a pair of games, starting with Mansfield on Oct.2 and followed by a trip to Bloomsburg on Oct. 5.

ESU will then play three straight home games beginning on Oct. 9 against Slippery Rock, followed by Kutztown on Oct. 13 and IUP on Oct. 16 which is Senior Day.

The last three games of the regular season will include a road game at West Chester on Oct. 19, the final home contest of the regular season versus Seton Hill on Oct. 23 and trip to Millersville on Oct. 27.

The 2021 PSAC Championships will be held Nov. 2-7. The top seed will serve as the host of semifinals and championship rounds.

The Warriors enter the season as the defending PSAC champions after capturing their second title in program history during the 2019 campaign. ESU was 19-3 overall, 9-1 in league play and return All-PSAC first team selection Celeste Veenstra as well as second team honoree Hannah Barbush.
