EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University field hockey team was ranked seventh in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday by the organization.
The Warriors (2-2) dropped five spots in the poll after opening the season ranked second.
Shippensburg (3-0) took over the top spot after defeating West Chester last week as they gained 11 of the 23 first-place voted. The Golden Rams (3-2) dropped to second after receiving five first-place votes and Saint Anselm ranked third after garnering two first-place nods.
Assumption (2-1) and Kutztown (3-0) slotted in at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots in the poll, while Millersville (4-0), ESU (2-2), Stonehill (2-1), Adelphi (2-1), and American International College (4-1) round out the top 10 in the poll this week.
ESU will look to extend its winning-streak to three games tonight as they take on fifth-ranked Kutztown at 7 p.m. from Andre Reed Stadium.
Senior Hannah Barbush ranks tied for second in the conference in assists with two while sophomore Amy Supey is fifth in goals against average at 1.29 per contest.
