EAST STROUDSBURG – The East Stroudsburg University field hockey team was ranked third in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll, released on Tuesday by the organization.
The Warriors (5-2) moved up four spots in the poll following a 3-0 week, which included wins against Kutztown and Saint Anselm, who were both ranked in the top-five at the time.
Shippensburg (4-0) maintained the top spot for the second-straight week as the Raiders earned 16 of the 23 first-place votes. West Chester (5-1) remained second after garnering three first-place votes, while the Warriors failed to receive a first-place nod at No. 3.
Assumption (4-1) held onto the fourth spot and Stonehill (5-1) jumped three spots to No. 5. Millersville (7-0), Kutztown (4-1), Saint Anselm (3-2), American International (5-2) and Bloomsburg (4-2) round out the top 10 in the poll this week.
Senior Hannah Barbush ranks tied for third in the PSAC in assists with three, while senior Morgan Mesenbrink is tied for seventh in goals with four.
Sophomore Amy Supey is fifth in the conference in goals against average (1.15) and ninth in total saves (17).
ESU carries a five-game winning streak on the road tomorrow as they visit Frostburg State at 4:30 p.m.
