MILLERSVILLE – The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team was highlighted by Isaac Almoney taking second and Daryn Blackwell finishing third in the hammer throw on the opening day of the 2022 PSAC Outdoor Championships held at Millersville's Biemesderfer Stadium.
Field Highlights
On his way to a runner-up finish in the hammer throw, Almoney recorded a personal-best mark of 56.72m (186-1), which still ranks third-best in program history. Daryn Blackwell was right behind in third with a throw of 54.39m (178-5) on his fifth attempt.
Decathlon Highlights
Daniel Daley (3081 points) and Eric Krzyzaniak (2948) represented ESU in the decathlon, sitting fifth and sixth respectively after five events. The duo opened the event with seventh and eighth place finishes in the 100m as Daley clocked a season-best time of 11.55 while Krzyzaniak was at 11.57.
Transitioning to the sand pit, Daley took fourth place after recording a season-best leap of 6.12m (20-1) while Krzyzaniak finished 10th with his best effort of the year at 5.62m (18-5 ¼).
In the shot put, Krzyzaniak finished sixth after notching a season-best mark of 9.76m (32-10 ¼) while Daley was 10th with a throw of 9.44m (30-11 ¾).
On his way to taking fourth in the high jump, Daley cleared the bar at a season-best height of 1.77m (5-9 ¾) and Krzyzaniak was eighth at 1.68m (5-6).
With the 400m serving as the final event of the day, Krzyzaniak logged a fourth place finish after clocking a personal-best time of 53.22 and Daley was sixth at season-best time of 53.22.
Running Highlights
In the 10,000m, Camden Shaffer took 25th finishing in 35:56.12.
