EAST STROUDSBURG -- The third ranked East Stroudsburg University lacrosse team landed an Atlantic Region leading six student-athletes on the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region team, the coaches’ association announced on Thursday.

Five of ESU’s six members landed on the IWLCA Atlantic Region First Team, which include: Kiki Fitzpatrick, Gianna LeDuc, Emily Mitarotonda, Kayleigh Pokrivka and Maggie Sell. On the second team, Kristen Andreychak was recognized.

Fitzpatrick ranks second the Warriors in both goals assists and points, registering 91 points prior to the NCAA Tournament.

She is just six points away from breaking the single season points record, but her teammate Gianna LeDuc may beat her to it, with four more points than Fitzpatrick.

The Sayville, N.Y. native's balanced offensive attack has helped setup goals for both Mitarotonda and LeDuc, while also finding the back of the cage 50 times herself.

Over her past six games, Kiki is averaging over five points per contest.

LeDuc is just two points shy from breaking ESU’s single seas on record of points in a season, currently sitting with 95 on the season. She trails Lauren Nunes by a single point. The two-time All-PSAC East First Team selection and 2022 PSAC Tournament Most Valuable Player registered an impressive eight points to lead ESU to its second-ever PSAC Championship last Sunday.

Mitarotonda is also nearing a single season record, posting 70 goals in 18 games this season and was recognized as the PSAC East Athlete of the Year. She is three goals away from the program record for goals in a season and would surpass Kristin Restivo’s mark of 72 goals in a single season with a hat trick on Friday. No slouch defensively, Mitarotonda also leads the team in draw controls, ranks third on the team in caused turnovers and is tied for second in ground balls.

Pokrivka, the PSAC East Defender of the Year, continues to terrorize opponents’ offense as one the most decorated defenders in Division II. She is tied for the national lead in caused turnovers per game with 3.06 and ranks eighth in ground balls per game with 3.67.

Along with Pokrivka, Sell and Andreychak are major factors in ESU’s dominant defense that ranks sixth nationally in scoring defense, second in caused turnovers per game and leads all teams in ground balls per contest. Sell was named the All-PSAC East Second Team, posting 32 caused turnovers so far this season along with collecting 45 ground balls.

Andreychak this season has started in all 18 contests, posting 18 caused turnovers and has scooped 23 groundballs.

ESU begins its fifth NCAA Tournament on Friday at 11:00 a.m., when the Warriors host Mercyhurst in a first round matchup at Eiler-Martin Stadium. The winner heads to the Atlantic Region Championship game on Sunday at noon against the winner of West Chester and Seton Hill.
