Men’s Track & Field Sits in Third After Day Two of PSAC Outdoor Championships

MILLERSVILLE – The East Stroudsburg University men's track and field team sits third in the standings with 39.5 points following day two of the 2022 PSAC Outdoor Championships held at Millersville's Biemesderfer Stadium.

Going into the final day of competition, Shippensburg ranks atop the team standings with 76 points. 

Decathlon Highlights

Eric Krzyzaniak (2948) led the way for ESU in the decathlon by scoring a season-best 5,436 points on his to a fourth place finish while Daniel Daley took seventh with 5,293 points.

Daley resumed the decathlon with a runner-up finish in the 110m hurdles after clocking a time of 15.71 and Erzyzaniak was fourth at a personal-best mark of 16.22.

In the discus, Krzyzaniak took seventh after recording a season-best mark of 25.16m (82-6) while Daley was in 10th with a throw of 24.32m (79-9).

Moving to the pole vault, Krzyzaniak finished in a tie for sixth after clearing the bar at 3.45m (11-3 ¾) while Daley took ninth with a height of 3.15m (10-4).

In the final field event, Krzyzaniak took 10th in the javelin with a throw of 36.21m (107-0) while Daley came in 14th at 19.66m (64-6).

Wrapping up the decathlon with the 1500m, Krzyzaniak took fourth with a season-best time of 4:52.33 while Daley followed in seventh at 5:03.07.

Running Highlights

ESU kicked off the day on the track by qualifying for tomorrow's finals in the 4x100m as the relay team of Sean Roberts, Tyler Boone, Raul Esteves and Austin Nice clocked a season-best time of 42.18 in fifth.

A trio of Warriors advanced to the finals in the 110m hurdles, led by Caleb Carney in fourth at a personal-best time of 15.12 while Ivan Hicks (7th – 15.40) and Daley (8th – 15.49) secured the last two spots.

ESU added three more finalists in the 400m as Boone recorded the second fastest at 48.45 while Roberts was sixth at 49.59 and Zandrew Bowe grabbed the last spot with a time of 49.69. Boone's effort was a personal-best and moved him up to seventh all-time in program history.

Luke Valdevit rounded out the busy afternoon for the Warriors with an eighth place finish in the 3000m steeplechase as the junior clocked a personal-best time of 9:55.48.

At the moment, the Warriors are awaiting the final results of the 400m hurldes to see who advanced to tomorrow's finals. 

Field Highlights

Cole Gorham continued to put together an impressive freshman campaign as he earned a runner-up finish in the discus after recording a mark of 50.15m (164-6). Isaac Almoney added a fourth place finish with toss of 47.84 (156-11) and Daryn Blackwell took seventh at 45.27m (148-6). Both were personal-best throws for the duo while Almoney's effort keeps him at ninth all-time in school history.

The Warriors grabbed seventh and eighth place finishes in the high jump, led by Romanley Turnier with a personal-best height of 1.97m (6-5 ½) while defending PSAC champion Carlos Pepin cleared 1.92m (6-3 ½).
