NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced on Wednesday that East Stroudsburg University fifth-years Kristen Andreychak, Gianna LeDuc and Kayleigh Pokrivka will represent the national runner-up ESU lacrosse team at the 2022 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Sunday June 5 at 2:30 p.m. Additionally, the three Warriors will be coached on the NCAA Division II North Team by ESU head coach Xeni Barakos-Yoder.
Andreychak was a major factor in ESU's top-10 defense nationally, that ranked sixth in scoring defense, eighth in scoring margin third in caused turnovers per game and led the country in ground balls. Personally, Andreychak tallied 24 caused turnovers and scooped 37 ground balls. She was named to the IWLCA All-Region Second Team this season.
Gianna LeDuc led the Warriors with 53 assists (2nd most in a single season), while ranking second in both goals (55) and points (108) on the squad. Her 108 points are also the second-most ever for a Warrior in a single season in the program's 58-year history. The Westtown, N.Y. native caps her illustrious season with All-PSAC First Team honors, IWLCA All-Region and All-America First Team accolades, along with landing on the NCAA All-Tournament team. She ranked seventh nationally in total assists, and ninth overall in points in NCAA Division II.                                                                                      Â
Pokrivka, arguably the best defender in program history, ranked third nationally in caused turnovers per game and eighth in ground balls per contest, leading both categories in the conference as the PSAC Defender of the Year. Playing on the biggest stage of her career, the York native registered seven ground balls and four caused turnovers in the NCAA Championship contest. Along with being named to the All-PSAC East First Team, Pokrivka was also named to the IWLCA All-Region and All-America First Team. She closes her career in the Poconos with 179 caused turnovers and 232 ground balls in just 74 games.
Barakos-Yoder, an ESU alumna, has guided the Warriors to the NCAA Division II Semifinals in three of the past four seasons and owns an impressive 95-25 record through seven seasons as head coach. This past season, she guided the program to a program-best 20-2 record and led ESU to its first-ever NCAA DII National Championship appearance. ESU shattered its previous wins record of 2017, set in Barakos-Yoder's second season. For the first time in program history, ESU hoisted a PSAC (2017, 2022) and Atlantic Region Championship (2018, 2021-22) during the same season.
The Division III teams will play the first game at 11:00 am, the Division I game will follow at 12:45 pm, and the Division II teams will cap off the event with their game at 2:30 pm. Admission for all three games is free of charge at Tierney Field.
