SLIPPERY ROCK – The third-ranked East Stroudsburg field hockey opened Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action with a 3-1 victory over Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon at Mikalik-Thompson Stadium.
The Warriors move to 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in the conference after posting their ninth straight win over The Rock, who falls to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC.

- Just under six and half minutes into the game, sophomore Allyson Forman scored her first collegiate goal to put the Warriors ahead 1-0 after she deflected an initial shot from senior Madison Kline, who picked up her first assist since 2019
- Junior Nicole Krozser gave ESU a 2-0 lead in the 2nd quarter with her team-high fourth goal through five games
- Freshman Julia Meijs tipped in a pass from Forman at the 37:27 mark in the third period to find the back of the net for the first time in her ESU career
- Less than three minutes into the fourth quarter, Slippery Rock's Erin Roland tallied the first goal of the season against the Warriors to make the final score 3-1
- Playing in the first three periods, junior goalkeeper Amy Supey made two saves to extend her shutout streak to 248:35 minutes
- The Rock's goalkeeper Grace Burker finished with 13 saves, marking the fourth double-digit effort by opponent against the Warriors this season
- ESU held a significant edge over Slippery Rock in shots (25-7), shots on goal (16-3) and penalty corners (10-4)
- In her 38th season, head coach Sandy Miller collected her 464th career victory, needing 23 more to move into third all-time in Division II

37:27 | Midway through the third period, Forman took the ball into the left side of the shooting arc before sending a pass across the middle that Meijs was able to tip into the left side of the goal to put the Warriors ahead 3-0
