Women’s Soccer Falls for First Time at Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Despite putting up more shots and shots on goal, the East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Shippensburg, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at David See Field.

The Warriors (5-1-1, 3-1-1-) look to bounce back against Millersville on Wednesday, while the Raiders (1-3-2, 1-2-2) pick up their first win of the season.

Shippensburg's Lauren Ocker tallied the lone goal of the contest on an assist by Olivia Stephen in the 64th minute for the eventual game-winning goal.

Notables

  • ESU held a 12-5 advantage on shots and a 6-3 lead on shots on goal.
  • Shippensbugr led 4-1 on corner kicks.
  • Natalie Schooley led the Warriors with three shots on goal. Teagan Marshall, Mikayla Moates and Ella Connolly also tallied shots on target.
  • In goal, freshman Emmy Clarkson made two saves in her first collegiate loss. Morgan Molneaux countered with six saves in her first win of the season.
