PEMBROKE, N.C. – The East Stroudsburg volleyball team dropped their final two matches of the UNC Pembroke Invitational on Saturday at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
The Warriors move to 3-5 on the season after falling to Embry-Riddle (17-25, 21-25, 13-25) in the opener before getting swept by Lenoir-Rhyne (22-25, 15-25, 13-25) in their last match of the weekend.

How it Happened vs. Embry-Riddle
- The Eagles raced out to a 7-2 lead in the opening set before the Warriors battled their way back to make the score 9-6. Embry-Riddle answered by scoring six of the next seven points to stretch their advantage to eight at 15-7. The teams would ultimately trade points the rest of the way with the Eagles taking the opening set, 25-17, for a 1-0 lead in the match.
- With Embry-Riddle leading 9-6 early in the second set, the Warriors responded with a 4-0 run to grab an 11-10 edge. However, the Eagles answered with a 6-0 spurt of their own to regain a 16-11 advantage. ESU would cut their deficit to three points on multiple occasion (21-18, 22-19, 24-21) but Embry-Riddle went on to close out the second set, 25-21, to grab a 2-0 edge over the Warriors.
- Embry-Riddle got off to a quick start in the final set, leading 10-4, until ESU scored three of the net four points to make the score 11-7. The Eagles proceeded to go on an 8-3 run to build their advantage to nine points (20-11) before finishing off the Warriors in the third set, 25-13 for a 3-0 sweep in the match.

- Coulter led the Warriors with seven kills while LoPresto and Ava Hunt each had six kills
- Haan followed up her effort in the first match with a career-high 27 assists
- Choloux had a team-high 10 digs while Baca and Hann each recorded nine
- Lenoir-Rhyne outhit ESU by a wide margin of .287 (39 kills, 10 errors) to .099 (30 kills, 19 errors)
How it Happened vs. Lenoir-Rhyne
- The Warriors built an early lead at 8-3 courtesy of six errors (four attack, two service) by Lenoir-Rhyne, but the Bears used a 3-0 run to trim their deficit to two. With ESU leading 12-7, Lenoir-Rhyne went on a 6-1 run to even the first set at 13-13. Following a Warriors' timeout, the teams traded points until the score was tied at 19-19, but the Bears outscored ESU 7-4 down the stretch to earn a 25-22 first set victory and a 1-0 lead in the match.
- The teams traded points to begin the second set but with the score tied at 6-6, the Bears used a 4-0 to force the Warriors into a timeout. Out of the break, the Bears proceeded to outscore ESU the rest of the way, 15-9, to take the frame, 25-15, for a 2-0 advantage in the match.
- Lenoir-Rhyne carried their momentum over into the final set, jumping out in front 8-3 before pushing their lead to 16-7 before an ESU timeout. The Bears closed out the match on a 9-6, which included a 5-0 run to secure the 3-0 sweep with a 25-13 set three victory.
