UNION, N.J. – The East Stroudsburg University swimming team closed it first half of the 2023-24 season with a second-place finish at the two-day Cougar Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Kean University.
ESU totaled five PSAC qualifying marks, as
Vera Renshof led ESU with a first-place finish in the 100-yd freestyle, breaking her own meet record at the Cougar Invite with a mark of 52.22, just missing out on an NCAA B time (52.06).
The Warriors earned 485 team points, which trailed host Kean (857), but finished ahead of Felician (364) in the three-team invitational.

How It Happened
- The meet began with the 1650-yd freestyle, as Sam Grayauskie (19:10.57) led the Warriors with a fourth-place finish in the event. Madison Tafe (19:23.48) took seventh.
- Jenna Johnson took runner-up in the 200-yd backstroke, compiling a PSAC mark of 2:15.70 as the lone Warrior swimmer in the race.
- Renshof's meet record came next in event 15, as she broke her previous time of 52.32 set in 2022 with a time of 52.22, just missing out on an NCAA B cut time.
- Despite a fifth-place finish in the 200-yd breaststroke, Kennedy Leveto clocked a PSAC mark of 2:30.73 in the 200-yd breaststroke. The mark ranks sixth-best all-time at ESU.
- In the final individual event of the meet, the 200-yd butterfly, Avery Fohring grabbed third place, compiling a time of 2:17.94 for another PSAC mark for the Warriors.
- The meet ended with the 400-yd freestyle relay, as the Warrior crew of Kennedy Leveto, Jenna Johnson, Sam Grayauskie and Vera Renshof clocking a time of 3:46.07.
