ATHENS, W.Va. – The Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) announced on Tuesday morning that East Stroudsburg University men's soccer midfielders
Colby Raymond and Ignasi Cucurella were honored on the D2CCA All-Region teams.
Raymond was named to the D2CCA Atlantic Region First Team, while Cucurella Tuset landed on the D2CCA Atlantic Region Second Team.
Raymond earned his second all-region honor from D2CCA, after earning a spot on the D2CCA All-Region Second Team in 2021. He led the Warrior offense this season in both goals (9) and points (21) during his junior season. The native of Kingwood, N.J. ranked sixth in the conference in goals and eighth in points. He previously earned All-PSAC East First Team honors and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District accolades.
Cucurella Tuset earns his first all-region honor of his Warrior career after leading ESU with six assists and ranking just behind Raymond in goals (7) and points (20). The native of Spain tied for seventh in the PSAC in assists and ninth in points per game. He joined Raymond this season on both the All-PSAC East First Team and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
ESU closed the 2023 season with an 8-3-6 overall record in the first season under head coach
Tom Mustac.
