Women’s Wrestling Tabbed No. 17, Three Warriors Nationally Ranked in latest NWCA Rankings

MANHEIM, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its updated national rankings, with the East Stroudsburg University women's wrestling team tabbed No. 17. Additionally, Emily Klein, Mia Macaluso and Zoe Gress are featured as individually ranked wrestlers in their respective weight class.

Klein is ranked No. 8 at 116, while Gress was selected No. 8 at 136 and Macaluso at No. 9 at 123.

ESU holds a 4-2 overall record following the Northeast Region 1 Duals, with its lone two losses coming to now No. 1 Iowa and No. 6 Sacred Heart. The Warriors posted a 3-1 record and took second place at the regional duals at Koehler Fieldhouse, earning wins over now No. 24 Elmira (37-10), Western New England (43-6) and No. 9 NJCU (41-9).

Klein holds a 5-3 overall record this season, picking up a victory over Brittain Chew of Elmira and Tatiana Walker of Sacred Heart at the Northeast Region 1 Duals. All three of her losses have come against currently nationally-ranked foes.

After a 1-1 regional dual performance, Macaluso holds a 6-3 overall record. She picked up a fall victory over Elmira's Megan Edwards, before falling to No. 6 Alexandra Fitzgerald of SHU. All three of Macaluso's losses have come against current top-six ranked wrestlers at 123.

Gress (8-2) is riding a six-match winning streak following a perfect 3-0 regional dual performance. After suffering one loss at the ESU Open, Gress has registered four pins and two tech falls over her past six matches.

ESU is back in action on Sunday on Long Island at the Nassau Open. The action-packed day is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
